We work to protect your interests in your home’s actual construction and installation details.
Kitchen & Bath
Kitchens and bathrooms require a technical and specialized design and an extensive knowledge of codes and construction. We can help with functional space planning as well as guide a client to select the right appliances, cabinetry, counter top materials and lighting. We work close with experienced Cabinetmakers to make the overwhelming task of designing a kitchen or bath a pleasant experience.
Project Management
Clients often have busy lives and schedules and do not choose to deal with aggravation of dealing with tradesmen. We can provide the invaluable service of scheduling and coordination a project so it runs flawlessly. With a designer acting as your agent, you can ensure that the job is completed in a timely manner.
Space Planning
Space planning is the core of all good design. As a Designer, I would caution anyone from investing in any furniture purchases without a functional and scaled space plan. We can provide more than one way to furnish a room and at the end of the process provide the client with a floor pan that has the size and dimensions of each piece of furniture that would fit the space. This is a tool that a client can carry with them as they make their furniture selections, avoiding any costly mistakes.
Lighting Design
Lighting is one of the elements that provides drama and infuses a client’s space with ambience. We provide customized solutions to our client’s needs. A successful lighting design is layering with architectural and decorative lighting using incandescent, fluorescent and halogen light sources.
Custom Furniture and Built-ins
Built-ins are a fabulous solution to accommodate many different functions in a condensed space. We work with talented cabinetmakers to create the right design for you. Although custom furniture and built-ins cost a little more than ready-made furniture, a knowledgeable designer knows how to use the right materials to make it cost effective without sacrificing creativity.
Window and Floor Coverings
Selectingwindow and floor coverings can be challenging as new products are introduced all the time. An experienced designer can not only assist you in the initial selection but also provide you with beautiful custom designs and invaluable information on the performance and care of the products.
Color Consultation
Color is an elusive element to work with and it takes experience and a trained eye to master the process of specifying the right tone or tint. Color is influenced by the type of light as well as other colors in the space. We can help you determine a color scheme for your entire project.
Interior Design Process
Consultation
This is the first meeting where the designer & client explore the rooms to be designed and discuss the expected flow & style of the rooms. We also discuss what the client is expecting from the designer and the scope of the project. At this time the designer will gather your contact information, we will define the budget and time constraints, talk about fees & compensations, and fill out a client profile form in order to get a detailed understanding of your project.
Letter of Agreement
The designer will send out a breakdown on estimated design hours for your project. If you decide to move along with the project, the letter of agreement is signed and sent back with a retainer. In this letter will also be a set time and date for a site visit to measure & photograph your home.
Site Measure & Photograph
During this visit the designer will measure the rooms and take pictures. This will help with the space plan of your rooms. If your home is still being built, the designer will request a set of blueprints. The client & designer will also discuss any furnishings or accessories that the client wishes to keep. The designer will inventory and photograph these items so that they may be integrated into the design.
The Design
This is the preliminary process where the designer will do Space Planning, Furniture Layout, Preliminary color scheme, furniture & accessory selection, window treatment design, gather bids and pricing.
Presentation
The designer has gathered options for your review. The presentation should help you get a good understanding and visualize where the project is headed. At this time, designer and client discuss any changes and additions. This presentation leads to additional meetings until the designer and client have selected all of the components for the project. Upon approval, deposits are collected and products are ordered. Before you know it, the project starts to take shape and develop into your dream home !
